EADI Regional Meeting and PhD Symposium for Germany, Berlin, 27-28 May 2024

For the PhD symposium, we welcome applications to present research focusing on the following areas:

  • Development studies and international studies

  • International relations

  •  Development economics

  •  Peace and conflict studies

  •  Social and natural sciences with a focus on the Global South

We welcome applications from all type of research, but applicants working on topics related to green industrialisation, green transitions and energy supply chains in the Global South are particularly encouraged to apply. While the Symposium mainly targets PhD researchers, master students willing to present their thesis are nonetheless encouraged to apply.

Please note: in order to apply to this event, applicants need to be officially enrolled in a German institution.

This event will open with a guest lecture by Dr. Melanie Müller (SWP Berlin), and participants will also be able to attend a panel discussion hosted by the Heinrich Böll Stiftung on ‘Green Industrialisation: Rethinking African-German cooperation for Sustainable Steel Value Chains’, as part of the annual Development Policy Discussion Days (DPDD). Please refer to the preliminary programme below for a full overview of the event.

The deadline for submissions is closed. If you would still like to submit an abstract and be added to the waiting list, or if you would like to attend the event without presenting, please send an email to Basile Boulay at: boulay(at)eadi.org
