Global Development and Cooperation in a Geopolitical Era: Intersectoral Challenges and Complex Agendas amid Contestation and Crisis, 23–24 October 2025, Kraków, Poland

Call for Workshop Papers. Deadline: 31 July 2025

We are pleased to announce the theme of the upcoming APISA in Europe and EADI workshop.

This event is organised by APISA and EADI and the Centre for International Studies and Development, Jagiellonian University, Kraków, Poland

Date: 23–24 October 2025

The current global governance landscape is shaped by the retreat of US leadership, intensifying strategic rivalry between the United States and other major powers (notably China and Russia), and the complex, intersectoral nature of non-traditional security crises. These include pandemics, climate change, natural disasters increasingly linked to human activity, and forced migration. Responding effectively requires intersectoral, interdisciplinary, inter-regional, and multi-stakeholder action.

The expected output of the workshop is a proposal for a special issue to be submitted to a peer-reviewed journal affiliated with APISA and/or EADI.

We invite the submission of abstracts for 15-minute presentations and accompanying full papers for consideration for the special issue(s). Submissions should engage with themes of global governance in an era of great power contestation and interlinked non-traditional security challenges.
