Come together! EADI Member Forum at EADI IOB Conference 1 July 2026

16:00 to 18:00 CEST, Antwerp, Belgium

EADI invites all members and representatives of member institutes to join us on 1 July 2026 at the EADI Member Forum at the EADI-IOB conference.

The Forum will provide an opportunity for members to exchange views on ongoing EADI activities and to contribute to the consultation process towards a Perspectives Paper on the Future of Teaching Development Studies. It will also offer an informal and friendly space for networking among members and those interested in joining EADI.

Registration

The event will be composed of a panel and a participative consultation process based on EADI’s project to develop a Perspectives Paper on the Future of Teaching Development Studies. Therefore, we kindly ask you to register so that we know the number of participants beforehand.

Please register before 17 Junehere

Background information

The EADI Perspectives Paper process reflects on the contemporary state and future of Development Studies teaching, building on discussions initiated around EADI’s 50th anniversary in 2025 and ensuing consultations conducted in 2026.

The paper will have an operational focus on what it takes to teach Development Studies in a changing world and what students can reasonably expect from a Development Studies programme. We envisage a series of consultations with relevant target groups within and beyond EADI, both across Europe and globally.

These consultations are not intended to define what development is, nor to produce an open-ended mapping or mosaic of intellectual traditions. Rather, they aim to generate actionable reference points for curriculum design, skills development, pedagogical approaches, institutional positioning, and, ultimately, quality assurance and accreditation.

The consultation will end at the EADI Directors’ Meeting in Dublin in October, and the results will be presented in a webinar.
