Early Career Session (2): How to Get Funded: Insider Perspectives on Research Proposal Success
Monday, 29 June 2026, 13:30 - 14:45
This training session addresses key concerns in project writing and positioning for early career scholars in the current global research landscape. Drawing on experience securing individual and collaborative grants (ERC Marie Skłodowska-Curie, ERC Starting Grant, and FWO Junior Research Project), as well as recent service as an assessor on an FWO postdoctoral panel, I reflect on how proposals are designed and evaluated in practice. The session will combine practical insights, tips, and recommendations with space for discussion, focusing on strategies for framing compelling research projects, aligning them with funding priorities, and avoiding common pitfalls in competitive grant applications.
