What are the most crucial changes brought about by the SDGs? Where does the Agenda 2030 leave Latin America and Africa? What can we as researchers do? And do we need new economic perspectives such as degrowth to achieve sustainable development? 

The panel session at the recent EADI Directors’ Meeting in Cordoba raised more questions than it provided answers – which did not come unexpected, given that the SDGs are far from being implemented in any country of the world. You can choose from a variety of seed and harvest panels: Seed panel (SP): Provides a platform to present work in progress and/or innovative ideas and do not necessarily require the submission of a full paper. Harvest panel (HP): Provides a space to present completed research and research findings. EADI Directors Meeting issues Statement of Support for British Member Institutes amidst Brexit talks

At the first day of last week's EADI Directors' Meeting in Cordoba, Spain, all participants unanimously endorsed a statement supporting continued European cooperation especially in times of Brexit: "It is ironic that this powerful demonstration of trans-European connectivity is taking place at the same time as the UK’s negotiations around leaving the EU are reaching a critical moment." "Political Economy of Building Social Protection Systems: Explaining Varieties of Change". Based on paper presentations, the EADI panel discussion at the upcoming PEGNet Conference aims at creating an interactive platform for debating latest advances made in exploring the interaction effects between different social protection policy areas from a political economy perspective. The session takes place on Tuesday, 10 September, 13:45–15:45
