QS University Rankings 2016 have ranked the University of Sussex as the top university in Europe for development studies. The Sussex campus includes the Institute of Development Studies (IDS), the School of Global Studies, Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU) and Centre for International Education (CIE).

United Nations University World Institute for Development Economics Research (UNU-WIDER); WIDER Working Paper 10/2016; Authors: Niels Johannesen et al. – Details for “Are Less Developed Countries More Exposed to Multinational Tax Avoidance? Method and Evidence From Micro-Data”

The working paper uses a global dataset with information on 210,000 corporations in 102 countries. It shows that the sensitivity of reported profits to profit-shifting incentives is negatively related to the level of economic and institutional development. This may explain why many developing countries opt for low corporate tax rates.
