From 7–11 December 2015, a training workshop for research assistants took place at Nairobi University. It prepared the fieldwork for the community impact assessments and the political economy analysis at regional and local level within the “Social and Health Policies for Inclusive Growth (SHPIG)” project – where EADI is a partner.

Many authors contributed to this multifaceted collection – from activists working with women in Assam’s tea gardens in India or young lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender leaders in Vietnam, to lawyers fighting the Anti-Homosexuality Bill in Uganda or the criminalisation of cross-dressing in Malaysia, to academics carefully re-reading Islamic Sharia or researchers assessing HIV prevention programmes in South Africa.

Once again EADI members have earned excellent positions in the recently released “Global GO TO Think Tank Index Report 2015” of the University of Pennsylvania. The report lists leading research institutes and think tanks around the world and examines their impact on government and civil societies.
