  • Kommission für Entwicklungsforschung / Commission for Development Research (KEF)

    KEF website

The Commission for Development Research at the OeAD-GmbH (KEF) aims at bridging the gap between science and development by supporting a development-oriented approach in research and science. The main principle is the incorporation of the development policy approach in science and research. To facilitate this process the KEF carries out cooperative research projects with Austrian partners and partners in developing countries; acts as an advisory body to the scientific community, government bodies and funding agencies with regard to scientific and development policy issues; carries out multimedia-based public relations activities for science-specific and generally interested target groups. We support cooperative scientific partnerships that address development research and 'global challenges' and analyse problem fields in a resolution-oriented way. The KEF also represents a contact point for research for development and serves organisations related to science, research, development cooperation and development policy on a national and international level as a contact point and regards proactive information lobbying and networking among institutions as an important task for its work.
