MA Global Political Economy
Sheffield Institute for International Development (SIID) Globalisation is a major issue in international politics. On this course, you will engage with the most pressing problems in the global political economy. You will explore how the distribution of economic resources is subject to multiple and often competing political pressures, and how the effects of these pressures are experienced.
You will apply innovative ways of thinking to contemporary policy problems such as unstable capitalism, inequalities and poverty, migration, environmental degradation and climate change, rapid technological change, and emergent new powers.
Course duration: 1 year full-time; 2 years part-time
Part-time study involves the same number of credits and learning hours spread over two academic years.

Master in International Relations/Political Science IHEID
Graduate Institute (IHEID) The International Relations/Political Science department offers students the possibility of completing a master’s degree through two programs – a stand-alone two-year master’s program, designed for students wishing to develop expertise in international relations; and a fast-track master’s program, that transfers advanced students into doctoral research after three semesters.
The master’s program prepares students for doctoral studies, research activities, and public or private careers dealing with different aspects in the field of international relations which require strong analytical and research skills. Students are equipped with the analytical tools and substantive background to understand a wide range of political topics. Engaging with multiple approaches and methods, students have the opportunity to take courses from a number of subfields.
