The continuity of the programme is based on the students’ appreciation for the varied academic content, its interdisciplinarity and the quality of teaching constantly adapted to the evolutions at the European and international level, respectively to the needs and requests of the students. We emphasize that this program is bilingual, in Spanish and English, so that the courses are held in two internationally used languages, vital for facilitating students’ access to information, documents and resources of the Latin America and Caribbean region. The bilingual courses also create the possibility for students to come from other countries than Romania.
The program aims to become a regional point of interest for people who want to complete their training in international relations and to acquire expertise in Latin American issues. Designing such a program came from the need to meet the demands and changes occurring in the international system, the states in Latin America becoming more interesting for the international community. We will try through the courses to familiarize the students with developments in Latin America and the Caribbean, to analyze phenomena that led the various economic, social and political activities, to predict the relations between states in this area and other relevant actors in the international system. These acquired skills can also be applied through the involvement of students in the activities developed within the Institute of Latin American Studies, which is an integrated part of the National University.
