Deadline: If you apply for a Masters to start in September 2018, you must submit your application by: 1 August 2018 if you're an international student and 1 September 2018 if you're a UK/EU student. Food is a cross-cutting development issue that concerns hunger, food insecurity, malnutrition, environment sustainability, power politics, social justice and cultural identity. You will gain an advanced understanding of the complex relationship between food and development. We build your analytical and practical skills, improving your ability to engage critically with issues such as: food and nutrition security sustainable food systems value chains and corporate power agri-food technology and its contestations. The academic year commences in September. Three terms run as follows: autumn term (September to December), spring term (January to mid May) and summer term (May to August). Students will learn the analytical and practical skills needed to understand globalisation processes, the role of business in development and how policy makers and policy can interact with businesses to promote development. The programme will provide an insight into the ramifications of globalisation and the policies needed to positively manage these as well as an in-depth understanding of the relationship between business, development and economic growth.
The programme provides an innovative mix of teaching methods that combines conventional lectures and workshops as well as interactions with people from business, the public sector, NGOs and international organisations.
Applicants with experience or knowledge of private-sector engagement are welcome to apply.

Businesses are the driving force for the economy and can help to promote sustainable economic growth and reduce poverty.
