International Development Extension Curricula ("Erweiterungscurricula"): Foundation and Deepening
Both Extension Curricual enable students without a BA degree in International Development Studies the admission to the Master International Development Studies without additional obligatory courses.
Attention: Not all courses are offered every semester, therefore you will need at least 2 semester to complete an EC.

Global Political Economy of Sustainable Development

Starting in April 2018, the Master Program will be offered by the University of Vienna in cooperation with the Austrian Foundation for Development Research (ÖFSE) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). The program aims at imparting both theoretical knowledge and applied methods for the design of sustainable development policies at the national and international level. The program has an interdisciplinary orientation and is based on a plural understanding of scientific approaches with respect to globalization and sustainability. We welcome students with at least a bachelor degree in a broad variety of academic disciplines from all world regions, and a junior professional background in development, economic and financial policy, as well as in social and environmental policy. The Master Development Studies started at the University of Vienna with 1.10.2012. Students who have a Bachelor in Development Studies or a similar field of Development Studies will be admitted without additional requirements. Students with a Bachelor Degree in a different field will need to fulfill additonal requirements – the amount depends on the specific prior degree and will not exceed 30 ECTS.
