You’ll learn all about global governance, which aims for increased cooperation between nations, and why it’s vital. Understand the UN System, particularly its creation, development and various agencies. Explore the challenges faced by the United Nations and debate the future of international cooperation.
At the end of the 2 weeks, participants will be able to:
- Understand the core mission of the UN and how it deals with key global issues such as human rights and the environment.
- Critically analyse key issues around peace and security, human rights and humanitarian challenges, international development, and North-South relations.
- Appraise the future of multilateral action through conference simulations and role play, as well as visits to key institutions in international Geneva.
- Engage with academics and practitioners on what could be done to reinvent global governance at a time of great international uncertainty

The main goal is to introduce analytical tools of political economy to enhance understanding of the crucial impact of politics and power on policy outcomes. Each part of the course will include interactive lectures, group discussions, and practical skill-building workshops or policy labs, as well as guest presentations by leading experts.
