National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (DRIIE-SNSPA) The Master’s Program in Latin American Studies is an initiative of the Institute of Latin American Studies and the Department of International Relations and European Integration of the National School of Political Studies and Public Administration, and is the first program of this kind in Romania. We emphasize that this program is bilingual, in Spanish and English, so that the courses are held in two internationally used languages, vital for facilitating students’ access to information, documents and resources of the Latin America and Caribbean region. The bilingual courses also create the possibility for students to come from other countries than Romania.
The program aims to become a regional point of interest for people who want to complete their training in international relations and to acquire expertise in Latin American issues. Designing such a program came from the need to meet the demands and changes occurring in the international system, the states in Latin America becoming more interesting for the international community. We will try through the courses to familiarize the students with developments in Latin America and the Caribbean, to analyze phenomena that led the various economic, social and political activities, to predict the relations between states in this area and other relevant actors in the international system. These acquired skills can also be applied through the involvement of students in the activities developed within the Institute of Latin American Studies, which is an integrated part of the National University.
