Information management for Development: Do the policies work? - Gestion de l'information pour le développement : les politiques sont-elles efficaces ?

Development assistance in the field of Information Management has focussed on technology. The current emphasis on ICTs has begun to be questioned by practitioners in this area.
In this conference we would like to clarify some of these concerns through experiences from several perspectives. The conference will draw from the view of partners in developing countries, EADI members, Multilateral and Bilateral donors and professional networks.
The aim of the conference is to inform those working in Information Management of the concerns practitioners have with some aspects of current policy approaches and to inform an ongoing debate currently supported by the European Development Cooperation to 2010 project by the EADI network.
The outputs from this conference will be published online (Euforic/Francophonie) and selected papers included in a future edition of the Journal for Information Development, (and the key issues raised included in a future InBrief from ECDPM).
Le support au développement dans le domaine de la gestion de l'information s'est concentré sur les aspects technologiques. L'attention actuelle portée aux TICs a commencé à être mise en doute par les praticiens du domaine. Pendant la conférence, nous souhaitons clarifier certaines de ces préoccupations à travers diverses expériences et selon différents points de vue. La conférence va présenter les points de vue de partenaires dans les pays en développement, de membres de l'EADI, de donneurs multilatéraux et bilatéraux et de réseaux professionnels.
L'objectif de la conférence est d'informer ceux qui travaillent dans la gestion de l'information sur les préoccupations que les praticiens ont vis-à-vis de certains aspects des politiques actuelles ainsi que sur le débat soutenu en ce moment par le projet European Development Cooperation to 2010 mis au point par le réseau de l'EADI.
Le résultat de cette conférence sera publiée en ligne (Euforic/Francophonie) et certains articles seront inclus dans une édition future du Journal pour l'information sur le développement (ainsi que les éléments clé qui paraîtront dans un prochain InBrief de l'ECDPM).
