About this Working Group
On occasion of the EADI General Conference in Geneva in 2008, the University of Bologna and the Dag Hammarskjöld Foundation co-organised a session on Global Governance, SADC and Liberation Movements as Governments in Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe (see the session report).
The session provided at the same time the opportunity to discuss among the participants further the idea to establish an EADI Working Group on Europe and Africa, with special (but not exclusive) focus on transitional processes in the Southern African region.
The Working Group is constituted for the time being until the EADI General Conference in 2014, i.e. for a period of almost six years. It will recruit several more highly competent scholars mainly from within the Southern African region, but also seek collaboration with CODESRIA and scholars based in Europe and elsewhere.
