Introduction to European Framework Programme with Special Focus on Social Sciences and Humanities

The European Framework Programme has become a key player in European research landscape. The total budget for FP7, including the non-nuclear research of the Joint Research Centre, is 51 Billion euros over 7 years. Currently, FP7 has also a strong focus on Social Sciences and Humanities (including research on development, international relations and international cooperation).
The aim of this training course is to introduce the key aspects of the European Framework Programme. It intends to develop skills of project officers or administrators so that can provide basic information and support services to research teams in their organisations.
The target group of this course are research managers, officers or advisors, who have low or basic level knowledge of the Framework programme.
Lecturer
Can Akdeniz - He is an experienced Programme Co-ordinator who has led multi-national teams to deliver complex international projects and initiatives for many years. Can has a wide range of experience of fundraising activities, building new teams and launching new initiatives including launching IKM, EDC2020 and Chance2Sustain Programme of EADI.

Day 1
09:30 - 16:30: General aspects and fundamentals
- EU Research Policy
- Introduction to FP7/8 (FP8 will start at the end of 2013)
- Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) under FP7
- How to find calls or other relevant information?
- Examples of calls
- Expectations from an FP7/8 Advisors
- How to get help for FP7?
- Case study exercise
Day 2
09:30 - 16:30: Proposal writing and proposal evaluation
- Steps to be taken before proposal writing (check-list)
- Phases of proposal writing
- How are the proposals evaluated?
- Case study exercise
The workshop will be held in English.

- Access to wiki with publications and training session documentation
- Certificate of participation provided by EADI

Participation fee is 650 EUR. There is a special discount of 100 EUR for EADI members and partners and also for students with valid student ID. In case of cancellation, EADI will refund the participation fee. The decision of cancellation will be made 14 days in advance.
